COACHES
Our coaches are a selection of current and former varsity, national team and professional volleyball athletes. Importantly, our coaches are selected by their ability to connect with and understand athletes specific physical and cognitive development needs. This follows AIRTIME's goal of ensuring each of our sessions are catered to the individual needs of the athletes participating.

Maxime Gratton is a former student-athlete at McMaster University. Maxime combines his elite playing experience with his studies in social psychology to create an effective training environment for youth volleyball players aged 12-18. Maxime's volleyball career includes selection to Canada's Youth, Junior, and Next Gen National team programs. At McMaster, he has contributed to three OUA championships and a USports Bronze medal finish. His individual accolades include 2-time USports First Team All-Star (2024,2025), OUA First Team All-Star (2023-2024, 2024-2025), OUA Rookie of the Year, and McMaster's Mel & Marilyn Hawkrigg Male Rookie of the Year Award. At AIRTIME Athletics, Maxime is in charge of developing the training environment that differentiates AIRTIME from competitors, integrating sports psychology techniques into technical skill development through age-specific progression frameworks. Maxime is beyond excited to get in the gym and be part of the development of the next generation of athletes, sharing his passion and expertise to help them achieve their full potential both on and off the court.

Lauren MacPhail is a second-year student athlete at Queens University. She is a middle on the varsity volleyball team at Queens and is currently studying Economics. Lauren has been playing volleyball for over 10 years and has been a part of team O and Canada summer games teams. She also played on MVC for 3 years where they won nationals in her 18u year. Lauren is excited to be joining the AIRTIME staff where she will be a specialized coach for middle blockers and sharing her knowledge with younger athletes!

For Quinn Levinson, volleyball has always been a big part of his life, from playing with the McMaster Men's Volleyball team, Youth National Team, and Team Ontario, to coaching at the club level with Mountain Athletic Club to the collegiate level with Mohawk College and now with AIRTIME Volleyball. With experience as both a player and a coach, Quinn loves helping athletes build their skills, confidence, and game sense in a positive and competitive environment. Quinn's coaching style is all about respect, connection, and creating an atmosphere where athletes can push themselves while still having fun. By blending strong communication with a passion for coaching, he is excited to help AIRTIME athletes reach their full potential.

Hannah Duchesneau

Alisa Gava has been coaching volleyball for five years and has coached at Thundercats Volleyball and Storm Volleyball in Ontario, Canada. She played at Storm Volleyball for 11 years, where her team won two provincial titles and a national title. From 2018-2020, she played on the Ontario provincial volleyball team as a libero. As a college athlete, Alisa competed at Toronto Metropolitan University as a libero/DS and setter while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care and minor in psychology. During her time at TMU, she had the opportunity to represent Canada at a NORCECA international beach volleyball event. After her undergraduate playing career, she transferred to Concordia University Irvine in California to play beach volleyball, where she is currently pursuing her MBA. This summer, Alisa is excited to be a part of AIRTIME, helping athletes develop their skills in a high-performance environment, surrounded by well-rounded, knowledgeable coaches and support staff.

Gladys Munge is a dynamic and process-driven Olympic-level former national team player. She’s a volleyball coach with over 10 years of experience developing world-class athletes. Specializing in player development, game strategy, and high-performance training both indoor and beach, Gladys has led teams to national and international success, including gold medal wins and top tournament finishes. With a background in program development, mentoring, and conflict resolution, Gladys has also worked in recreational planning and administration at Kamiti Correctional Facility in Kenya. Certified in international high-performance coaching (FIVB) Level 1. Gladys is committed to shaping the future of volleyball through leadership, strategy, and athlete mentorship.

Payton Entwistle is a setter going into her 4th year at McMaster. She's been playing volleyball since she was 11 and was provided an opportunity to coach early in her rep years, allowing her to earn her coaching certification. Payton has always been passionate about developing the sport of volleyball and showing young athletes how to love and appreciate the sport they put so much time into. She has had the privilege of working with many different age groups as well as gaining experience coaching at the rep level. Growing up, it was super beneficial for Payton to have varsity athletes she could look up to as positive role models, and it showed her how possible becoming one of them truly is. AIRTIME offers insight for athletes to see the behind the scenes of the higher level and understand the training required to play at the next level. Payton is super excited to be a part of this program and help drive the sport of volleyball further!

Francois Albert is currently in his last year of a master's in mechanical engineering and has over 14 years of experience playing and coaching volleyball. He played for the McMaster men's volleyball team for 5 years, winning 3 OUA medals and earning the most valuable teammate award in 2022. Growing up, Frank played every position throughout his volleyball career, including 3 different positions during his time at McMaster. This versatility helped him stand out as a complete volleyball player and was a major factor in his ability to play at the next level. Choosing to work with AIRTIME was an easy choice for Frank, given the shared emphasis on long-term athlete development that he believes is key to helping athletes reach their full potential.

Emma Dhanjal is a former student-athlete with NCAA and OUA experience, most recently playing as a setter at McMaster. Throughout her career, she's had the privilege of training under incredible coaches who have shaped her into the player and person she is today. Now, she's passionate about sharing that knowledge and experience with the next generation of athletes.

Bella Aicken is from Hamilton and now attends University of Guelph for Psychology. She played her entire club career for MVC in Hamilton. Bella was an AIRTIME athlete last summer where she improved her volleyball skills and had a great time getting to know other athletes and working with the coaches. Through her experience, she learned that AIRTIME is a great way to build confidence, improve specific skills and gameplay experience. Her transition from participant to coach provides her with a unique perspective and firsthand understanding of the AIRTIME experience. Bella is looking to contribute in a unique way through her firsthand understanding of the AIRTIME experience and give back to the volleyball community.

Brianne Whalen

Haben Yohannes is a former McMaster Men's Varsity Volleyball athlete, where he has won three OUA Championships and a U Sports Bronze medal. He is also an Academic All-Canadian. Before his university career, he competed with Venom Volleyball and was selected for Team Ontario Black and Elite programming. Leveraging his extensive volleyball experience, Haben serves as an AIRTIME coach, specializing in middle blocker and block/defence training. His competitive background and technical expertise create an environment where athletes can develop specific skills crucial to their positions on the court.

Samuel Cooper

Claire Carter is a second-year student-athlete on the Queen's varsity women’s volleyball team where she studies commerce at the Smith School of Business. She has been playing volleyball for over 10 years and had the opportunity to represent Canada at the U19 NORCECA championships this past summer. Also, in her 18U year, she won a national championship with her club team, MVC, where she was awarded MVP of the tournament. At Queens, she has been able to develop her skills further and got selected as a third-team all-star in her most recent season. Claire is incredibly excited to be joining the AIRTIME coaching staff as a coach for primarily outside hitters. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and helping athletes develop their skills and confidence on the court.

Maxime Gratton is a co-founder and the COO of AIRTIME Athletics, where he leads the development of the company's proprietary training methodology for youth volleyball players.His studies in social psychology at McMaster University inform his approach to creating age-specific progression frameworks that enhance athlete development. At AIRTIME Athletics, Maxime oversees coach recruitment and development, maintaining a rigorous selection process that ensures only the most dedicated coaches join the team. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing AIRTIME's reputation for excellence in youth volleyball training. Beyond volleyball training, Maxime is involved in AIRTIME's brand development, working collaboratively with AIRTIME's Director of Growth and Program, Creative Director, and General Manager & Communications Lead on social media management and merchandise development. He is the creative mind behind AIRTIME's custom shorts, bringing his unique vision to this signature apparel item. Additionally, Maxime collaborates closely with the marketing team to develop strategies that authentically showcase AIRTIME's unique methodologies and approach to volleyball training and youth development. His experience as an elite athlete, including selection to Canada's Youth, Junior, and Next Gen National team programs and multiple OUA championships with McMaster University, provides valuable insight that shapes AIRTIME's operational excellence and strategic direction.
Equity & Growth Director

Haben Yohannes is the Director of Equity, Growth, and Programs at AIRTIME, Haben plays a key role in expanding the organization's impact. Working alongside the CEO, he oversees financial aid and outreach programs, reinforcing AIRTIME's mission of making high-performance volleyball more accessible. In collaboration with the COO, he contributes to digital growth and training innovation, continuously refining how AIRTIME presents and delivers its services to athletes. Haben's leadership extends beyond AIRTIME, as he serves as the President of the Black Student-Athlete Council (BSAC) at McMaster University, where he has spearheaded initiatives that promote inclusivity and advocacy. His background as a former McMaster Men's Varsity Volleyball athlete with three OUA Championships and a U Sports Bronze medal, combined with his status as an Academic All-Canadian, brings valuable perspective to his work making high-performance volleyball training accessible to diverse communities.
CHIEF OF STAFF

Quinn Levinson is the General Manager and Communications Lead at AIRTIME. He helps shape the program to focus on player development, high-level training, and ensuring AIRTIME’s love for the game is reflected in exceptional customer service and engagement. His extensive volleyball background with the McMaster Men's Volleyball team, Youth National Team, and Team Ontario provides valuable perspective in managing and enhancing AIRTIME's training approach. Outside of volleyball, Quinn is completing a degree in Communication Studies, bringing professional expertise to his role overseeing AIRTIME's communications strategy. By combining strong communication skills with his passion for volleyball, Quinn is committed to helping AIRTIME continue to grow while supporting young athletes in reaching their full potential.

Maurice el Helou, AIRTIME’s co-founder and CEO, is a current Harvard Masters student, Hamilton local and McMaster Graduate. He is responsible for the company's strategic growth and oversees its overall operations. On the court, he brings an understanding of the tactical and personal development side of the game. He is a coach who seeks to combine his love of the sport with his understanding that the lessons learned in sport are inseparable from those in life. Maurice never shys away from feedback and intensity, but always understands that growth happens with connection and reflection. Maurice is dedicated to creating an organizational culture that promotes excellence while making high-performance training accessible to youth athletes from diverse backgrounds, positioning AIRTIME Athletics as a leader in youth sports development.
